"Air" explores the relationship between silence and sound, as well as the weather in Iceland. Silence and sound are given equal value and expressed vertically and repetitively within the composition. The weather in Iceland is hectic and characterized by abrupt and fleeting changes. By having silence and sound equal roles with vertical movement, the piece creates a unique rhythm and structure. The piece aims to express the fleeting moment of Iceland's ever-changing and transient weather.
